Once your I-901 SEVIS fee is paid, you can check it yourself and print the official payment confirmation from fmjfee.com. The confirmation is your proof of payment for the visa interview and your arrival in the United States. ICE no longer mails paper receipts.
How long until it shows
- Card payments show straight away.
- Western Union and mailed payments can take longer. ICE advises allowing at least three business days for a payment to be received and verified, so pay well before your interview.
Check your status and print the confirmation
Step 1: Open fmjfee.com and tap "Check I-901 Status"
Go to www.fmjfee.com and tap CHECK I-901 STATUS at the top of the page.
Step 2: Fill in the three boxes
Copy them exactly as they are on your I-20 or DS-2019, then tap CHECK STATUS / VIEW PAYMENT CONFIRMATION.
- SEVIS ID: near the top of your I-20 or DS-2019, starting with N.
- Last Name: your surname.
- Date of Birth: pick the month, then the day, then the year.
Step 3: Print or save your confirmation
When your payment shows, open the payment confirmation and print it, or save it as a PDF on your phone. If nothing shows yet, wait: it can take up to three business days after a Western Union payment.
If you paid through us
- We text you when we've paid, and the Western Union receipt appears in your account for download.
- Then check the status on fmjfee.com as above. That's the official record, and you never have to rely on our word alone.
- If it still isn't showing after three business days, message us with your order code and we'll follow it up with the receipt.
What to take to your visa interview
- Your printed I-901 payment confirmation.
- Your I-20 or DS-2019 with the same SEVIS ID.
- Everything else your embassy appointment letter lists.
